NAS
Purchased a diskless ReadyNAS and two Toshiba 2TB external disks (Toshiba 2TB StorE Alu2 External Hard Drive from eBuyer quick link 234952), which I stripped down and put the disks in the ReadyNAS.
Initially I had some issues with the ReadyNAS reporting "corrupt root" this turned out to be due to the disks not been set to boot in the disklabel, once set the disk to boot using fdisk on Debian, the unit installed the OS correctly on the drives.
ssh Add-on
Installed the ssh add-on which allows ssh access to the ReadyNAS:
